What Trend Radar is

Trend Radar is a content research and analytics tool built and operated by Robert Keast, founder of 8020 AI Ltd. It analyses publicly available video and channel statistics to identify content trends and engagement patterns.

Trend Radar is an internal tool. It has a single operator, is not distributed, sold, or offered as a service, and has no public sign-up, customers, or third-party users.

Use of YouTube API Services

Trend Radar uses YouTube API Services to retrieve publicly available data from YouTube. By using YouTube content through this tool, the operator agrees to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service.

Google's handling of data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.

What data Trend Radar accesses

Trend Radar retrieves only publicly available data through the YouTube Data API:

  • Public video metadata: titles, descriptions, tags, publication dates, durations, and video identifiers.
  • Public video statistics: view counts, like counts, and comment counts.
  • Public channel metadata and statistics: channel names, subscriber counts, total view counts, and video counts.

Trend Radar does not access, collect, or store any personal data from YouTube users. It does not use OAuth, does not ask anyone to sign in with a Google account, and does not access any private, authorised, or account-level data. It does not read, post, or modify comments, videos, playlists, or any other YouTube content.

How the data is used

API data is aggregated into internal dashboards that show content trends, keyword performance, and engagement patterns over time. The output is used solely for the operator's own content research. API data is not published, resold, redistributed, or made available to any third party.

Storage, retention, and deletion

API data is stored in a private, access-controlled database hosted on Microsoft Azure. Access is restricted to the operator.

Trend Radar analyses current trends only. Stored API data is refreshed or deleted within 30 days, in line with the YouTube API Services Developer Policies. Data that is no longer refreshed is deleted; no historical archive of API data is kept beyond that period.

Because Trend Radar collects no personal data and has no users, there is no user data to delete. Any request relating to stored public data can be made using the contact details below, and will be actioned within 30 days.

Cookies and tracking

Trend Radar is not a public-facing application and does not set cookies, use advertising identifiers, or track any visitors or users. It does not allow third parties to serve content or advertising through it.
